Tagua nut Owl
Tagua nut, also known as "vegetable ivory", is a beautiful ivory colored nut from the seed of Palm trees. This amazing nut has stepped in and been used for many of the things that historically were made from animal ivory, long before plastics. Buttons, knife handles, dice, and chess pieces to name a few. Later these were carves into elaborate designs. Small animal sculptures, and jewelry to name a few.
This Owl is a beautifully detailed example.
